Posta Uganda offers you an opportunity get involved in the hobby of stamp collecting, through the Stamp Bureau which provides you with all types of Philatelic Services.
Characteristics of Ugandan Stamps:
Features on Uganda stamps are mainly natural resources with special emphasis to Flora & Fauna, the history and culture of the country. Other themes of International interest include: the world games, United Nations events and renown international personalities.
Definitive Stamp Issues:
These are stamps specifically issued for your ordinary postal needs and you can buy and use these for an average of five years.
These include stamps or postal stationery issued to commemorate a special occasion, event, or some other notable person.
Domestic Stamp Sales:
Philatelic services can be obtained at Kampala General Post Office.
Overseas Stamp Sales:
For the benefit of customers in all parts of the world, Posta Uganda has an appointed agent, the Inter-Governmental Philatelic Corporation of New York, USA who advertises, promotes and markets Uganda stamps and Philatelic materials. The agent receives the stamps and sells at face value to collectors.

Philatelic Services Available:
- Mail Order Account:
You can use the mail order account facility by sending the required amount of money to cover the items to be purchased.
- Cancelled To Order (CTO):
A date stamp impression is made on stamps either mint (unused) or affixed on envelopes.
- Deposit Account Facility:
With a Deposit Account at the Bureau, you can place standing orders for First Day Covers, Mint Stamps of Commemorative and Definitive Issues to be supplied to you as soon as they are released.
- Standing Order Account Facilities:
We offer a standing Order Account facility for customers who require repeat orders for all new issue of Mint Stamps, First Day Covers, Souvenir sheets, etc. These supplies are dispatched automatically with no need to reorder.
Under this service, customers who make frequent purchases may deposit money with the bureau against future requirements.
An initial deposit of US$100 or its equivalent, which may be adequate for one year's demand, s recommended. The credit balance must be sufficient before an order can be dispatched.
Remittances must be in the form of a cheque/draft in favor of Posta Uganda, Stamp Bureau and sent by Registered post.
- Non-Standing Order Accounts:
These are for customers whose needs vary from stamp issue to stamp issue. All they need to do is notify us for their requirements as and when they arise.
Remittances need not be sent with the order, as the cost will be deducted from their accounts.
The Stamps Bureau operates a mailing list where all customers who have their names on the list receive prior to the release of each issue an order form and a pamphlet. Clients who wish to purchase the items forward their remittances and order form to:
